I wanted to make this piano bench something special for my friend. I purchased it at her mom's garage sale. It was one of the pieces she did not get before the sale. I got it back and brought new life to it but the memories for her are still there.
My friend and her siblings recently had to place their mom into a nursing home. Her mom is happy as can be there but they sold the house and the memories from this bench were all happy ones.
It definitely needed some work. After a lot of sanding and prepping. I gave it the first coat of primer then a nice Key West Blue from General Finsihes.
I loved the blue but I reallly wanted a distressed look with just a little of the blue showing underneath. So I kept going with a coat of white latex then I used the Champagne Pearl Effects over the top of that.
She has a beachy theme throughout her house and this was perfect but their family is Irish and her dad even helped start our huge St. Patrick's Day celebration that has been going on for about 50 years now.
What do you think?
