Interested in the Gumbo Limbo tree. You say a Fl. native. Would it like where I live in Umatilla? We are on the southern side of the Ocala National Forest.

I love the grasses of Florida,Pampus grasses etc. Gradually I am added them to my landscaping. I need to learn how to make other plants from the ones I already have.

  @Lucy Fraser Pampas is not a native grass in Florida, and I would be extremely careful about siting it. The clumps will get far larger than most people have a place for in their lawns—easily 8 feet high and wide—and its serrated leaves will cut a child who accidentally falls into the plant, or you, if you you try to prune it.

  @Douglas Hunt Thank you, I thought they were Native. I have some experience with the Pampus grass, so I do realize how big and full they get. I am using it for privacy, a border, and as a focal point only. I like the dramatic look of it, I would like to make other plants instead of having to purchase them.I do not know how to do that.I like that they are drought tolerant, and pretty much carefree.

  @Lucy Fraser Grasses are generally propagated by division, but it is almost impossible to divide a clump of pampas grass because of the razor-sharp leaves.
