Helpful hints for small patio

S
by S
I have a very small patio just for myself and puppy. Any ideas? There are no outlets for lights, I'm thinking ahead also for dark winter months.

Since your big concern is the winter months, I'd run a cord through the window where the AC unit is. There are many battery lit camping lanterns as well as propane. Hope this helps

    How about solar lights.

This is an simple fix. There should be an outlet on the inside of the porch wall. Here's what you need to do: 1) Turn off the power to the outlet; 2) remove the faceplate and duplex outlet from the box; 3) Make sure the outlet and wires are pushed over and out of the way; 4) You will need a 3/8" or 1/2" drill bit long enough to drill through to the outside; 5) dill a hole through the back of the box to the outside; 6)Mount a surface mount outside duplex box to the exterior wall with the hole in it to match the hole just drilled; 7) Use 12-3 romex thread it through the back of the inside box through to the outside box; (now you have wire sticking out both sides); 8) strip and connect the wires to both outlets and remount the outlets and faceplates. This is about a 30 minute job for any competent electrician. I installed 2 outlets on my screened in patio a couple of weeks ago as described above. Code may dictate adding rigid conduit to the install but that's not a major concern. Good luck!!

I'd paint your chairs to match, also that little round table, and put it between them for drinks, etc. Buy a plant stand for your plants, and some solar lights with LEDs to brighten up the space. You could get a med sized barrel planter, fill with rocks and place a tall solar light in it. It would look nice, and give extra light. Put a table light on the table, and another one on the other side. That should give you lots of light, and would look good.

Battery operated tea light from the dollar store. Walmart has solar lighting on clearance. We have strands of solar lights wrapped around our trees. Amazon might have some good deals on those right now.😎

Instead of painting your chairs you might add another element that has both of those colors. For instance little chair pillows with yellow and green in the fabric. Or use a similar fabric as a table cloth, then the table is coordinated, too.
