Dog deterrent ideas
I live in a HOA community and the board didn't even respond to my complaints. Any suggestions for anything I can put on my front garden lawn area to discourage the animals since their owners don't care.
Sorry for the ugly photo but it explains what I am afraid of finding on my carpeting.

No traps! It's not the animals fault they have crappy lazy owners. A couple things to do. Take photos of offenders and blow up to poster size. ( only a couple of bucks)Bring up in HOA meeting AND IDENTIFY the owners doing it with posters. Embarrassment is a great deterrent. Push for fines for offenders, again take photos with phone for proof. Next, if HOA won't help, call cops for trespassing and have warning issued. Next time it will be a fine. If you can find out the times the dogs are walked stand outside. If there is a specific area it occurs in and you don't want to stand outside, buy a couple huge boxes of cayenne pepper or black pepper and put it all over the area until the DOG won't come in your yard. 1 other thing if you can take it. Buy deer urine at hunting store walmart. Pick poop up dump it in yard of offender and pour deer animal scent on it. Their dog will roll in it because of smell. If you don't want to mess with poop, put the animal scent in their yard and samething will occur. Their dogs will love it but the owners wont! If all else fails, find a cow!
