I let my 3 year old daughter paint on both sides of a piece of subfloor I had to remove, not thinking that her painting would be the first piece of artwork we would display in our home. Children are full of surprises. :)

Larose LoganOakes on Aug 12, 2013Here is a recipe for edible finger paint!: The recipe calls for…1/2 cup cornstarch1 1/2 cup of waterfood colorSimply mix the cornstarch and water together in a saucepan. Stir constantly over a low heat until the mixture thickens and allow to cool. Divide the mixture into separate containers and add food color to your smooth and squishy edible fingerpaint. DanielleHogan on Apr 21, 2014The top painting (the blue/yellow/green colored one) looks like an abstract painting of Tinkerbell. If you look closely, you can see her blonde hairdo & her body ....yes, it's sort of a blurred view of her, but it looks like Tink nonetheless. I showed this post to 5 of my friends & family members & they all agree that it looks like Tinkerbell. You may have a true blue artist on your hands!!! How awesome!!!! Nurture that talent, many people go to school & train as an apprentice for many years to paint like that!!! Wow!!

Yvonne @ Sunnyside Up-Stairs on Apr 21, 2014Thank you for taking the time to comment, @DanielleHogan. :) I didn't think to look for an image in her painting! I am not sure how to formally go about nurturing her artistic side. I just let her play with painting as often as she is interested. She made a virtual abstract painting of Wall-E on an iPad that I wish I could have framed - he was recognizable among a blur of swirls and colors! :)
