I know this one has been done a lot but here is my version
I took the spool apart, cleaned it and painted it with watered down gray chalk paint
I found 3 inch rusty roman numerals on https://www.etsy.com/shop/ThorsForge
I bought a high torque clock mechanism with extra large hands on amazon and searched high and low for something to attach it to- that would fit in the middle... turns out a wide mouth mason lid was perfect... but I wanted them rusty like the numbers
I drilled a big enough hole in the lid for the clock mechanism ...sprayed a few layers of each color
when I thought it looked like rust I glued it into the middle
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Cable spool (electric supply company)
- Spray paint (walmart)
- Rusty numbers (Thor's forge in Idaho)
- Clock mechanism (Amazon)
