  • OH NO! A deadly mishap this morning! Time for a new colored gazing ball.
  • This is a top view of the hole we drilled in the log to run the extension cord. The end of the hole is the same diameter as the outside of the gazing ball stem.
  • Feeding the strand of colored lights into the gazing ball.
  • I taped the end of the strand of lights to the extension cord so it couldn't accidently pull out and fall back down that long 31 inch hole in the log.
  • Placing the gazing ball onto the top of the log.
  • This is how the gazing ball nestles onto the log. It just sits there.
  • All finished. Now my Fairyball is green until I can find the perfect replacement color. 1

Lighted gazing ball mounted in an old log / Instructions included!

This is a standard glass gazing ball that can be purchased at many home centers that we mounted on an old log and installed colored lights inside the glass ball. We drilled a hole up ...»
through the center of the log and fished an extension cord from the bottom to the top and into the glass ball after inserting colored LED lights. Then we mounted the log on a concrete base and secured it in place. I broke my original beloved gazing ball this morning trying to get pics so that is the reason for the change on the color of the glass ball.

Duplex with unique front..needs curb appeal!!

As you can see, I am improving the house with gardens...however, the front under deck, which is the walk out basement needs something done to it!! I dont like lattice work, that is not an ...»
option. I though of some kind of "barn doors" that slide on a metal track to hide under deck, but still be functional. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Power wash your aluminum siding let completely dry and spray your siding. We used latex out ...»
door paint and it's stayed on for years. Yes I would put steps on the other side to to make it symmetrical. I would divide/divider the two doors and put a pergola over The top. I would also divide the doors on the bottom to give each tenant a feeling of their own space. Color is always very pleasing to decorate with.

Our mirror mosaic fence. We had a blast creating this. Amazing what can come from a broken mirror mishap.

A different view every time you look at the fence. It looks like a million shadows playing in ...»
the trees. I'd want someone else to break the mirrors though.

  • Prep before painting interior doors -

Painting: We recently replaced our door trim and baseboards and painted them white.

At the time we had not decided whether to replace the doors or just paint them to match. In order to keep costs down I think I will paint them. So question is: Do I need to prime first or just give them a good wipe down before painting and replacing the hardware?

Thanks

Windows & Doors: I'm looking for sliding door hardware, for 2 doors in a bedroom. Sliders like you would find on a barn door.

a little more modern, but the same idea as a barn door. The only ones I can find are $300.00 and up way too expensive. You guys are so clever any ideas?

Love the attention to detail. The small leopard print on the curtain rod, the trim on the ...»
shelf above the window and across the bottom of the window. This could go either boy or girl and just by changing out a few things it sure can grow with the kids. Love all the details.
