Garbage Disposal Cleaning Trick

Sharpen, clean, and freshen the garbage disposal at the same time with this nifty little cleaning trick. Mix equal portions of water and vinegar together into an ice cube tray with one piece of lemon rind dropped into each slot. Let the solution freeze overnight.

Drop the ice cubes into the garbage disposal and grind them up completely while the water is running. The vinegar should clean the surface of the disposal while the ice cubes sharpen the blades and the lemon rinds leave a fresh scent.
Lemons, vinegar, and water are all that is needed.

I've done this and it's so nice to have those ice cubes handy when the disposal needs a little freshening.

On top of sharpening the blades, the ice cubes do a good job loosening bits of debris stuck in the disposal.
