Old mason and atlas canning jars come in the blueish green color. The newer one comes in different colors...I think green, clear and ?purple. Or the blueish green color. Newer is cheaper, old jars can be found in flea markets, auctions for usually around $10 a piece or more. Dependent on the jar. I have one that is worth $150, that I got at an auction for next to nothing years ago. They have paint kits to turn modern metals to verdis gris or rust or look on line for assist on how to create your own colors. Hope this helps. Best wishes

you can use food coloring and the oven on 200* for like 20 minutes. Or, you can use chalk paint, a foam brush, and water the paint down. the more layers you put INSIDE the mason jar, the less transparent it will be, but there are a couple of different ways to color glass for you.
