My love of crystals and the outdoors has really brightened my horizon to create more sparkle for my garden. This one I call Bohemian Butterfly. Just made it last week. It's whimsical and sparkles like crazy. With the lovely feedback from Hometalk viewers I want to share more and more. See complete details on my tutorial. To hang in my tree, as if flying, I used clear fishing line.
The sun catches and the crystals sparkle, I have a rainbow on the patio everyday.
Used 18, 19 gauge steel wire, and18 gauge aluminum wire, wire cutters, chain nose and round nose pliers.
Assembled top wings and bottom wings using 195 crystals. 8mm-12mm and for the antlers I used 6mm. Each wing left and right are mirror images. Crystals are from www.firemountaingems.com.
Used the 18 gauge aluminum wire to wrap top and bottom wings together.
Used 18 gauge aluminum wire to wrap and twist tie for the body of the butterfly. Strung on black crystals.
Used 19 gauge smaller wire for the antlers to string on smaller crystals.
