The Many Lives of Fred Peterson's Tool Tote...as a Console Table

I bought "Fred Peterson's" metal tote at an antique store a while back. I don't know Fred...but for some reason that doesn't bother me. I like having his name on there...it's "history". I wonder what Fred carried in his tote? And what would he think of my new table :)
Sorry, no before picture...you'll have to use your imagination.
I thought it would be fun to flip it upside down to make a little console table.
Four matching spindles...cut down a bit on top to make it a better...less "spindle-y"...height. (The table is now 26" tall)
Now I'm thinking these little handles would be a great place to hang a hand towel for a serving table or wine bar. Wish I would have thought of that when I was taking pictures :)
I was originally imagining this as a console table...maybe behind the couch or in the front entry.
But yesterday "he" served my daughter and I a light lunch on the patio.
And now..."he" has a new job as the check out counter at a charming little market...around the corner in our Great Room.
Not sure what's next...
