Keeping frogs out of the pool

We have frogs going in our in-ground pool every night. We get them out and take them to a pond several miles away. The next night there are more frogs! We are looking for a way to keep them out of the pool!

Maybe a removable cover? It would be a pain to put it down at night and take it up in the morning, but you're already dealing with frogs every day so it might be a viable tradeoff.

You lucky stiff! I buy tadpoles for my pond but they all go away. BooHoo! You might consult a pet shop.

We live in the tropics and recently a friends dog was killed by a frog's saliva or the dog bit into the frog, not sure which but some of the frogs can be very dangerous here. Dog had to be put down so to tell someone to "get a life" as someone else did is quite cruel just because it is not common on the mainland! The poor dog was in agony for quite awhile while they tried to save it! No reason to be so cruel. I would get a cover myself to be safe as you also never know if someone wanted to come in for a midnight swim ever!

I would look at how they are getting in. Maybe a higher, non pores fence?

You have to find the source. You may not be able to control it. But I would not be wasting my time driving them to another place. Box them up and sell them on Craig;s list.

Maybe put in a small pond which would be more natural for them. You could grow some pretty plants and maybe put some koi fish in too. The frogs are just looking for a place to live and would like a pond better than a chlorine filled pool.

I agree with None. Frogs follow where there is enough food ( bugs ), a water source to keep their skin from drying out and place's to call home, meaning rocks, mini, moist caves, boards or other natural made areas to keep out of the sun. If you have a forest near your home it may be impossible to deter them, then get a pool cover.
