Tutorial~Placemats with Ruffles and Trim for a shabby chic feel.
The end product
Cut rectangular piece to size and 4inch width strips for ruffles. Sew ruffles by pinching fabric. To me this is easier than gathering by pulling threads.
Measure 2in around from seam line for trim placement.
Pin trim to placemat.
Sew as close to edge as possible on both sides
