Slab Door Converted Into a Simple Headboard

Vintage Headboards
by Vintage Headboards
We took a slab door and cut it to fit a standard king size headboard then filled the open end with a new piece of wood. Next we added our side skirts, legs and crown molding shelf.
The headboard was finished with K molding in a rectangular pattern on the front. Filling and sanding followed by multiple cotes of paint. The best way to attain this type of finish is to spray - it will leave a brush-stroke-free professional look to your headboard.
Our Customer asked that we color match existing furniture in their bedroom and this is the result.
