Make sure it is dry first then seal it in epoxy to keep the natural look & to make it easier to clean. You can go with paint but that pretty well ruin the looks. Is this what you are looking for, or mounting, or...

  @SLS Construction Solutions Thanks for your advice; I'm really new at this and didn't want to mess up. Will any type of epoxy work? I've never used it before.

  @Becky Murphy There are so many varieties & finishes out there I would recommend checking with a local woodworking store & seeing what the finishes look like. Along those lines we have some great woodworkers here & a search of epoxy might give you some ideas & you can see what you would like, would get you the look you want

  Go on Pinterest and see what others have collected.. you can see all kinds of things people have done with pallet and barn wood. I thought about doing that, but using the pallet wood. I think the most important would be the depth of the wood..the length can be fixed. Sand them and decide if you want them natural or painted.
