Douglas Hunt on Aug 21, 2013This is a hardy hibiscus, right? If so, I would plant it in the ground. There's still plenty of time for it to establish a good root system, then mulch well when the ground freezes. It it stays in a pot that size I think you would need to bring it in for the winter.Helpful Reply

Jennice Severson on Aug 22, 2013I agree, get it in the ground. I live in North Idaho. Gets very cold, snow. I cut my hibiscus to the ground after it has stopped blooming or early fall. They do need a lot of water and fertilizing. I just use Miracle Grow.Helpful Reply
