From Dirty Laundry Room/Bathroom to Spacious, Beautiful Room!

When your bathroom is also your laundry room, you have to get creative to make the space functional, full of storage, and yet inviting to guests. And I did just that---for $1,000!

In this flip, the laundry room was also a bathroom. I don't know about you, but most buyers don't want to sit on the toilet and look at dirty laundry. But, in its original state, that's exactly what happened. This one space was actually two rooms.
The space was aged and dirty. The vinyl flooring was coming up, the cabinets had yellowed, the sink was chipped, and the countertop was filthy. A complete overhaul was needed!
By using a free Craigslist cabinet and a roadside cabinet, we were able to increase the storage immensely in the space. And since the space is supposed to be separate rooms in one room....I decided to do just that- make 2 separate rooms. By framing a laundry room closet, the washer/dryer [aka- dirty laundry] is hidden from view!
After giving all of the cabinets-- including this laminate freebie-- a fresh coat of paint, as well as the walls, the space seems so much brighter and airy! To see how to easily paint laminate- check out my blog for a tutorial!
The roadside cabinet got a fresh coat of paint and new hardware and was hung in the newly constructed laundry room closet!
The next step was to remove the original hollow door and utilize the salvaged antique door. After stripping and painting it, it looked brand new, and I turned it into a sliding barn door.
For privacy, I frosted the class...for $4! I have a complete video of me doing this on my blog, The Bachelorette Pad Flip!
After replacing the countertop, moving a sink from another bathroom in the house, painting the cabinets and adding new hardware, updating the outlet, adding a new faucet, and adding a new mirror, the bathroom space was looking great!
I chose to accent with lots of white to make the space look and feel bigger!
By adding plantation shutter doors, new flooring, and new toilet this space-- of 2 rooms--seems bigger and more functional now! To see all of the details and how I accomplished this transformation for around $1,000, check out my blog- The Bachelorette Pad Flip.
