Could you provide some pictures of the leaves and stem? The flower looks very much like a "blown" hybrid tea rose, considering the variegation on the petal and the stamen in the middle. Does it have a scent? Not unusual for them to get that tall.

Maybe rosa rugosa. May have been a hybrid that died and the root stock continued to grow.

Cherokee rose, a wild rambling thing ... my guess ... found some in my backyard.

Looks just like my Jackson Perkins climber "Fourth of July". Blooms with an abundance, simple petals and yellow centers, moderate sweet scent with dark green foliage. It is a hybrid.

It looks like the root stock has sprouted. Roses are often grafted onto sturdy old type rose roots and if roses are planted too deep, sometimes they sprout.

Thanks. I think it may be Fourth of July roses.
