Beer Bottles in the Garden

Michelobe lite comes in pretty blue bottles. I just couldn't put them into the curbside recycle. So I paired them up with bricks and recycled them in my garden.
I embedded the bricks edgewise, then pushed on them sideways to make them lay slightly against the ground. This angle allowed me to lay the bottles sideways against the exposed sides of the bricks. Pushing the necks into the ground made the bottles lay against the ground too, so they're just kind of cradled there.
Laying them down like this prevents water and debris from collecting in the tops, I really like the beautiful blue color against the green foliage.
I only had one six pack so I used them in the edge of a bed.
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Six pack of empty bottles
- Bricks that I got for free

I used my blue beer bottles on a 'bottle tree frame' a friend made. I slowly have replaced them with blue wine bottles (most Rieslings come in blue) but the blue is too pretty to toss so I've been thinking of other ways to use them. I may try this.

To Inetia, I did post a picture of the bottle tree yesterday but I don't see it.
