Using "garden tub" as water feature.

I have an old garden bathtub made of cement that I have been thinking of using as a water feature, perhaps with a small fountain. I want to put it by my porch/patio but it is very shady there. Would the shade be a problem? I don't want a lot of fish but some plants would be nice.

In the shade you will want to stick with water feature. In my experience not enough sun will grow more algae and many pond plants needs sun (like water lilies). I would love to see the pic of it (I make fountains out of things for myself and others) and if it looks like a bathtub I would run with that and have the water flowing out of a 'faucet or shower'. Depending upon how large the tub is then you could add a potted plant, rock, or statue. sounds like a great project!
