Using "garden tub" as water feature.

I have an old garden bathtub made of cement that I have been thinking of using as a water feature, perhaps with a small fountain. I want to put it by my porch/patio but it is very shady there. Would the shade be a problem? I don't want a lot of fish but some plants would be nice.

  • In the shade you will want to stick with water feature. In my experience not enough sun will grow more algae and many pond plants needs sun (like water lilies). I would love to see the pic of it (I make fountains out of things for myself and others) and if it looks like a bathtub I would run with that and have the water flowing out of a 'faucet or shower'. Depending upon how large the tub is then you could add a potted plant, rock, or statue. sounds like a great project!
