As ever I am doing some research on my next power tool purchase and would love to have some opinions on which MULTI TOOL is the best one to buy? Naturally being in New Zealand we will have a few different brands, but if anyone could suggest a major brand that they think is worth the money and does everything they want I would be very grateful, thank you

  • Are you talking about an electrical one, or one for your pocket? Pocket the Leatherman is about the best you can find, Electrical type I would go with Fein. I have one and use it a lot. Cost quite a bit, but it does not get hot like the others do. If you use it for any length of time, you will feel it get warm in your hand. i had a Craftsman and it got so hot could not hold it without gloves after a short while.

From recip saw, power hammer, angle drill, all sorts of stuff. They also make it in 12 volt, 18 volt, air and 110 volt models. Great for the DIY person that has the time to change things around as hey are working. As a contractor, I have one tool for every job. Only issue with that is not enough power cords to go around.
  • My hubby gave me the Dremel multi-max tool and I love it!!!! I can hold it with my small hands which is a plus and it has so many attachments. It retails here for about $100 but it was worth it. I have a friend who has the cheap version and I think it is not ergonomic and it gets hotter than my Dremel. The multi-max can scrape, cut, sand, and other tasks with different attachments. Or is there something else you need it to do?

@The Garden Frog with C Renee Hi, that sounds exactly the sort of thing I need and the size is also an important factor, not having big hands either. I'll be going shopping soon, thanks.
