Painted Mini Pallets

With some square dowel rods and crafts sticks, I created some adorable mini pallet ornaments. This project is not only super easy and inexpensive, but would be fun to make with your kids or grand-kids.
The first step was to measure and cut the square dowel rods in to 2 inch sections. I chose this size because the craft sticks were 2 -1/4 inches long. I also made a few of these with the flat, square dowel rods too.
After cutting the center sections, I painted all sides of the craft sticks with two coats of acrylic paint in whatever base color was needed for the designs I had chosen to paint. Each mini pallet required 4 or 5 craft sticks or cut dowel rods per side and three square dowel rods in the center.
After the base paint had dried, I used Tacky glue to create each mini pallet and allowed it to dry overnight. Then it was just a matter of painting on the designs on one side of the pallet. If I planned to use the mini pallet as an ornament, I wrapped jute twine around the center section of the mini pallet and tied it off at the top.
