Making a Fall Tree From Wire

I just love tree's and am always happy when I can come up with another way to make one.
I picked up this bundle of twisted wire at a 2nd hand store. For $1.99 I thought I could find a use for all those pieces. After playing around with it I saw a tree starting to form. It was sturdy and stood up strong.
I picked up these leafs at our local dollar store and thought they would be perfect for a fall tree.
Glued them on and now I have the perfect tree to add to my fall decor.
Can't wait to get my fall decorations out and add my tree.
Suggested materials:
  • Heavy gage wire
  • Glue
  • Maple leafs   (dollar store)

Oh wow! I love this. Have you thought about doing this with copper wire? Over time the wire would change colour with a Verdigris finish.

I haven't but that would be neat. I just happened to find this wire cheap at a 2nd hand store and didn't think about making a tree with it. Not until I started playing with it that I could see a tree taking place.

When the kids were little every year we would do a Halloween Tree...go out in the woods and find just the right dead branch laying on the ground, put lights, Halloween garland on, some little caldron's and tiny pumpkin's. This would be a great way to make a permanent one. The idea of using Copper and let it age would work wonderfully as well.

I see so many ways to use this tree through out the year for my decor. Since I just glued the leafs on I can change them out easy. I like the copper tree idea too. If I ever run into a glob of copper who knows. Right now copper is pricey around here, and I'm to cheap. lol Gathering tree limbs for halloween decorations sounds like wonderful memories. They just seem to grow up to fast.
