Sfg178760 on Sep 01, 2013I buy antique and primitive wood pieces....so if you can put a color on the box that is similar to original blues or reds with a bit of wear on it, that may be appealing to people. I would rather get the box as is, but that is just me. And yes, something cool needs to be done with that tray...mosaic, layering paper collage, old photo collage, Map collage, or the options are limitless! Not sure about the basket, again for me it looks nice as is....but I know some shabby chic paint may make it pop a bit more for resale! Good Luck with your project!Helpful Reply

White Oak Studio Designs on Sep 01, 2013Thanks ladies! So (OurOwnBig World) you believe this box is truly of a "primitive" age? (I have only seen the photographs as of now.) My friend bought some of these items while she was living in Germany, approx. 20+ years ago. I expect I will use chalk paint with wax techniques that gives an aged, antiqued look. Sorry I should have mentioned that before. I'm happy to sell the box as it once I get it, if that interest you. Please contact me via e-mail if you are truly interested. donnaallgaierlamberti@gmail.comHelpful Reply
