Best DIY toy box for a toddler
-
Julies1949 on Sep 06, 2016Get a shelving unit with cubbies. Buy or make boxes to fit the holes. Find pics of the various types of toys and attach those as labels. He won't understand it now, but he will soon learn which type of toy goes in which cubby. This will be a much more versatile piece of furniture for future use.Helpful Reply

William on Sep 06, 2016I agree with Julies1949. Cubbies are best for a child that young. A lidded toy box can become a hazard. Don't get one too tall and attach it to the wall to prevent tipping.Helpful Reply

Susan Bechamp on Sep 07, 2016I agree with the storage cubbies. Stuffed animals and other soft toys can be stored in a laundry hamper or an oversized cloth bag. (Think Santa's sack) When he's a toddler he might be able to utilize a Rubbermaid type of tote.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Sep 09, 2016Since you share a room with your toddler, then I would think about under the bed storage to hide the toys when not in 'play'. Take the lids off the plastic underbed storage and teach the toddler to pull them out and put them back for the toys. another inexpensive option would be to use those cheap dollar store laundry baskets or get some heavy duty boxes the same size (small) and paint or cover the boxes.Helpful Reply
