  • I tell you what I use with great success and my husband is a mechanic and he comes home with grease, diesel, oil, and other things all over his black work tees. I use 2 products that do not cost much~Totally awesome cleaner which I find at Dollar tree (as seen on tv not the dollar tree brand!) and I use Muleteam borax. The totally awesome cleaner is concentrated so I have several spray bottles of it ~ once is full strength, 1/2 mixture and a more diluted mixture for small jobs. On clothes I use the 50/50 mix and spray on and let sit for a couple minutes or longer depending upon the stain. I have gotten jeans covered almost entirely in grease 95% clean! The borax is about a 1/4 cup and i use this as an additive to laundry. The totally awesome cleaner is very strong and be safe when using it. The stuff works.

I agree with C Renee Fuller! That 20 Mule Team Borax is the BEST! It is also a lot cheaper than Oxiclean. Also I agree that the Totally Awesome product works Great! You can't beat the price and it actually does what it says that it does! You might want to make a paste with the borax and some water and just let it sit on the stain for a few minutes and then wash it as usual. Let us know how successful you are!:)

I agree, I am also married to diesel mechanic and found 20 Mule team to be one of the best ways to deal with that kind of mess. And that Awesome, is just that. Love the stuff, it's great for all kind of cleaning projects and has little to no odor.

I use Dawn dish detergent, full strength on the oil spots and gently rub it in, then wash as usual. This even works on shirts that were already washed & dryed before the spots were noticed.

There’s a product called “Power Clean” or “Purple Power.” You can get it at WalMart or at most autosupply places for about $5 a gallon. Iswear by this stuff! It will take greaseand stains out of, or off, just about everything, without damaging the surface (exceptvarnished wood). Use it full strength ordiluted. I keep a spray bottle in mykitchen…spray the surface and grease just runs off. I’ve also used it to take grease stains, grass stains, ink, etc. out of clothing and used it diluted to shampoo mycarpets. Love it!
