The Garden Frog with C Renee on Sep 05, 2013Spheramid has great advice and Depending upon the look, you could also use the 6' single pickets at Lowes or Home Depot. At Lowes there are 2 different thickness and would do the trick as well. I use fence pickets for many garden/decor projects now because lumber has gotten so expensive.Helpful Reply

Spheramid Enterprises on Sep 05, 2013Sorry, carpenter talk, "1x" is One by, like 1 by 4 or 1x6 , and then ya have 2x which is like 2x4 and 2x6..etc. so make a long box with ends, of either 1x6 or 1x4 and inside have a similar block with a center hole to drop down over the post. Then cap it to keep crud out.Helpful Reply
