I am looking for ideas on making benches for my dining room table with backs on them.

Depends on how fancy you want. 1 x 2 wood strips would be a farm/ rustic look. Or you could use twin bed headboards. :)

Thank you for the suggestions but this doesn't answer my question , I am looking for something with straight lines. I have one of those in the "works" for my porch tho.
