We are purchasing our first home and the radon can back at a whopping 10. What are your thoughts and opinions on radon testing and mitigation systems? Do you have any idea how much it will cost?

Radon blowers are pretty common here in the rockies....it is due to all of our granite bedrock etc. Most systems have an "underslab" vent that runs 24 / 7. Other mechanisms like heat recovery ventelators can also help. Some folks will duplicate the testing for "inhabited" spaces. having radon in a basement or crawl space where noone ever visits is a lot different than having those counts in your bedroom.
  • I am not sure of the cost of the heat recovery systems cost, but you can install an EZ Breathe ventilation systems and it will do the job for you. The cost is $1,499 installed and comes with a 10 year warranty and a one year guarantee. You get to try the system out for a whole year if it does not work for you then you just send it back. That is a great deal?
