How to determine height to hang chandelier above table
-
Mary Insana on Sep 07, 2013A chandelier should hang approximately 30 to 36 inches above the table. I read is that a chandelier should be above eye level when standing up and the suggestion was to measure from the floor up about 6ft and that should be the approximate place for the bottom of the chandelier basing that on a person with a height of 6ft.Helpful Reply

Midlantic Contracting LLC / Midlantic Electric Inc on Sep 09, 2013In general a chandelier should be installed with bottom of the fixture 5 to 6 feet above the floor. Average eye height when sitting is around 48 - 50 inches. You don't want to be looking at the bottom of the fixture when you are sitting down for dinner. All in all it comes down to personal preference with a little common sense.Helpful Reply
