ElnyrPolchow on Oct 31, 2014Why isn't the pine cone a "health hazard" ON the table....bacteria? Critters? It IS a beautiful creation of nature but it IS an outdoor product! Thoughts?

Jackie Johnson on Apr 19, 2015I confess when I saw it on the plate I had a little cringe but it wasn't actually the pinecone that did it, it was the glitter all over the plate. Now that I've thought about it, you can bake all the critters out of the pinecone, but the critter "junk" is there for eternity. UNLESS you bleach them first and then prime with KILZ before you paint. Or use them as a centerpiece under a glass globe on top of a mirror? Just thoughts...

What makes it stand up? Did you cut a slice in the top to hold the place card?
why not jut put a pretty cocktail napkin under the pine cone to catch any falling glitter, etc,?
