Humming Bird a Little Lost

What a great morning.....woke up early to nice cool temps and a good cup of coffee and while enjoying the quiet of the morning i look out at my flower bed, low an behold there we a female ruby throated hummingbird. I think she was either lost or trying to migrate because here in western Nebraska you don't see a lot of this type of bird. Made me smile.

I think all of the hummingbirds that left Canada are now in mid Minnesota. As of the past two weeks, we are seeing more every day than we saw so far this summer. Very mellow, too. One sat for awhile on a trellis about a foot from my husband's face. @ how nice for you to see one today when you don't usually get them. They are enchanting birds.

I always consider it very lucky in our area to see even one humming bird, I don't think we are in the normal migration pattern and out in the sandhills of Nebraska there isn't much protection for them. Such beautiful creatures, they make me smile. :)
