Reclaimed barnwood and old chairs turned into a great repurposed bench.
Found two old wooden chairs and some old barnwood from a recent pick. Planed the barnwood, painted the chairs after removing the seats and spindles. Attached barnwood to the chair frames.
After attaching the barnwood to the chairs with wood screws (pre drill pilot holes before using the screws to ensure there is no cracking of the wood) we then filled the holes in with wood putty.
We then sanded lightly the barnwood and the wood putty to ensure a smooth surface. Then we stained the barnwood with expresso by minwax. Sealed the wood with a matte polyurethane

A great way to utilize the frame of these old chairs. Making it into a bench definitely is something that I am sure many people can use. Great for inside use as well as outside use.

Have a question about this project?
Why not just use the lumber to redo the seats? This method does not look stable. (Or comfortable!)
