Sensible Gardening and Living on Sep 10, 2013Linda, that is a Japanese anemone. It grows in part shade or sun blooming in late summer and fall. There is both white and pink varieties as well as single or double flowered varieties. Fairly tall, likes good soil and adequate water. Perennial:)Helpful Reply

Jay B on Sep 12, 2013Japanese anenome is a nice late summer fall addition. Invasive but controllable. The plant itself is not very high. It would go well in amidst your other perennials so that as it rears its blooming stalks in late summer you get a nice little surprise. I bought mine in a plant nursery.Helpful Reply
