White in the Garden

What a surprise this morning to see the white asters all in bloom- so tiny and delicate. Here are other white flowers in my secret garden. A couple that I am still waiting for the great "reveal"- my moon flower has not bloomed yet- and the climbing hydrangea vine is still very tiny- maybe next year for that one! Some have already gone to sleep for the season- white bell flowers, carpathian harebells- see them next year :)

white snapdragons still hanging on
The white on the hosta- such a pretty contrast

I love asters...planted 4 yesterday. We found them on sale at Home Depot and could not resist them. The planting instructions said we could plant this late in Atlanta. Funny, but one year I put out red/white/blue petunias and the deer ate all but the white. Needless to say my yard looked awful and the white glowed in the moonlight...looked really freaky! I LOVE red salvia (sp) but the rabbits get it! I cannot believe I live about a mile off 285...one of the busiest streets in the world and am plagued with all sorts of wildlife!
