DIY Personalized Pet Food Mat

This little project is for my fellow animal lovers. We have two cats and one dog in our home so far. I love my animals, but their pet food areas can get so messy. To keep the cat food off of my floor, I made a little placemat to put under it.
Of course it had to be personalized for this little diva.
I started by picking up some laminated burlap.
Next, I found this cute fish graphic online, which I opened up in Photoshop. If you don't have Photoshop, you can try Picmonkey which is a free online editor.
I then added her name in the bottom right corner of the graphic before printing it onto my burlap. This went through the printer with no problems. I've tried other printable fabrics, and they would always get stuck.
For a backing, I used a simple piece of foam backing which prevents it from sliding around the kitchen floor. I attached it with Mod Podge to the burlap. Lastly, I used the spray Mod Podge (which is non toxic) to seal the top of the mat. This makes it easy to wipe clean and prevents the graphic from smudging. Don't skip this step or the graphic will smudge.
