Sherrie on Sep 16, 2013You have hard water. Use distilled water. Calicum is building up. And always buy a Hoover.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Sep 17, 2013I would be more concerned about such frequent use of water / steam. ( Sub-floor integrity / mold water damage etc) The only carpet in my home is about 10 years old and has been "wet" twice. ( rental carpet cleaner machine) A Regular vac works for us.Helpful Reply

Kala Professional Restoration services on Sep 18, 2013Hard waters are high on there heavy salt content and tends to get accumulated on the surfaces and they tend to jam gradually. You may get the tank cleaned up on regular intervals. That's the only solution to such problem. Else you may do that cleaning with some bleaching powder to the tank area if you try out.Helpful Reply

April E on Sep 18, 2013I would follow the vinegar suggestion, I do this every third cleaning and actually clean the carpets with white vinegar when I do it. the vinegar helps with the hard water issue I have for the cleaner and cleaning the carpets with white vinegar helps to pull out the soap build up in my carpets so they stay cleaner longer, it also helps to kill any mold that might build up in the carpet, and it helps with any odors that have decided to take up residence in the carpetHelpful Reply
