DIY Farmhouse Table for Two (with a Little Bit of Chicness)

I love using things that we already have in our wood stash when it comes to DIY projects and making something useful but also beautiful items for our home.
This was the approach we (me and my Mr Dreamy) decided to use on this table that we wanted to use outside in the summer ... and in every season, when the good weather will permit that.
You can improvise, use your imagination, work with what you have and adapt everything to your own needs, that's the beauty of DIY'ing, if you ask me :)
We made the table top from old wood pallets (that had way too many holes that we had to fill and sand with an orbital sander afterwards).
The X legs seemed like a good and simple idea, because we didn't wanted to complicate things too much.
It was a good idea indeed, I just loved the rustic feeling the legs added to the whole concept.
We added the table top and our DIY farmhouse table for two was ready! :)
Well, almost ... :) … because I wanted to add something else to this table, THAT small thing that would make it a more special one:) So I created a small design and Mr Dreamy cut it. Team work is great! :)
I really loved that extra bit of chicness! :)
Then I used some ''homemade stain'' to distress the wood.
Some people prefer this stained look, so if you are one of them you can just stop now and admire your table! :)
But I'm in love with all things white and sometimes in (pink) pretty pastels, so I decided to paint the table top and distress it afterwards.
So this is how our DIY farmhouse table for two was born! :)

We still love to use it outside, there's nothing much better than breathing some fresh clean air while having your lunch! :)

You can find all the detailed steps on the blog, would love to see you there!
