My version of this popular project is an upcycled kitchen cabinet coated with magnetic paint, then spray painted navy on the outside and aqua on the inside. I added a touch light to the inside back wall (attached with Velcro so you can change the batteries) and I switched out the knob for a handle.
I also added a little food pyramid to the inside door- just print from the web, mounted on construction paper, taped on the back and washi tape for decoration

The aqua inside really makes it feel "chilly," right. :)
The magnetic outside is great to keep it a little more realistic then the plastic version you'd buy in a store, I then it also has felt on the bottom so it won't scratch floors.
Dollar store bins hold all the play food, and the touch light helps make it a little more interactive.
