Leak in kitchen sink--help!
My husband replaced and resealed all of the pipes under the sink, replaced and repaired the gasket for the disposal, and replaced the gasket for the sink drain leading to the disposal, and we're still finding small puddles of water under there.
I know how faucet does leak some when you turn it on. You can see a small bead of water come from the handle. Could that be it?
Any ideas on where we should be looking now? It's driving me crazy!

KMS Woodworks on Sep 21, 2013Did he replace the "plumbers putty" in the drain flanges (the metal part that is in the sink). Often wrestling these about will cause "new" leaks. New PVC drain parts are pretty cheap...I would strip everything back toss all the old plastic and start with new. Pull the drain flanges, clean all of the residue of the old putty from the sink hole and re-install with fresh putty. Re-using 10 bucks worth or smelly plastic is not worth the headaches in my book.Helpful Reply

WaywardWordNerd on Oct 01, 2013Maybe? He hasn't really been able to work on it and the leak seems to be very small. Only a small puddle--easy to clean up. I want to wait for him to replace the gaskets on the faucet and find the leak in the disposal before trying to trouble shoot more. Thank you!Helpful Reply
