Any ideas on removing Vinyl Composite Adhesive safely?

KMS Woodworks on Sep 23, 2013so this is install over a wood sub floor? Mechanical means are chemical free...ie scrapping or sanding. If you go the sanding route a belt sander would be my first choice...just wear a good dust mask.Helpful Reply

Dee Fitzpatrick on Sep 23, 2013Thank you for the suggestions but this doesn't answer my question because its not practical for our situation and we would have to continue to change the sanding paper belt.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Sep 23, 2013It was hopefully put down with contact adhesive so use a iron or blow dryer to warm it up and it should unstick, you might get a few pices that will need to be scraped off but when you warm it up it releases the glue on both sides. I have used a blow dryer on the highest setting.Helpful Reply

Kat Tellez on Sep 24, 2013A blow dryer may not generate enough heat to melt the adhesive. You can pick up a heat gun for about $10 at Harbor Freight and that will work much better.Helpful Reply
