Anyone know what I can do with all this beautiful glass? Such a waste! I thought these on eBay and this is how they came the man didn't even use any sort of wrapping other than three pieces of newspaper for 17 insulators!!!!

Such a waste of something that had endured many elements and traveling.

  Ha @Julie Moyna I didn't even notice it said thought instead of bought. I hope you got a refund. That person shouldn't be selling on eBay if he doesn't know how to pack better than that. The only thing I can think of buy a rock tumbler, break up the glass more and then tumble them into pretty "stones" to use as filler in a clear vase or make mosaic stepping stones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxisWMWKLqE#t=16

@Julie Moyna too bad they are somewhat damaged, but if you search the site for totems there are some fantastic ideas that you could still use these in - here is my search results. http://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=totems There are also others where some make glass sculptures that are also used in the garden, they look fabulous. The colours of your pieces are really interesting and would add character to a sculpture.

  @Julie Moyna you see, what many fail to realize or understand is, there are consequences for every action you take & every word spoken word you speak...some consequences are good, & some are bad. One day, this person is gonna get rude with the wrong person, or end up in a ditch because of slick roads, etc....my point is, Karma is going to pay this man a visit one day, and it will NOT be pretty. As for you, Karma will visit you one day as well....and if you truly are the person you seem to be, Karma will pay you a visit & reward you for all the good things you have done for others. I have been told that for every good deed you do, it comes back on you 3 fold(3 times better).... And for every BAD deed one does, it comes back on them 10 fold(10 times worse) It's too bad you live so far away or I would gladly take them off your hands. I'm an artist that works with glass, metal, & just about any other material I can get my hands on. I bid you peace. :-)

We would use them in our Mosaic patio that we are in the process of creating. Could you think of something in that order, like maybe marking a garden path? or mounted on nails atop a fence? Glue them together to make a garden totem? There is a lady that I follow on Facebook, Garden Whimsies by Mary, Check her out, maybe you could get some ideas from her. So sorry that your seller was ignorant to proper shipping and packing techniques.

  @Robin Miller Cresci Thank you robin for the link...I have been making totems but only from vintage plates, cups and vases. I have not dabbled in mosaic but have always wanted to...I don't know why I'm afraid of the cement...I have my hubby showing me how to repurpose the insulators into lamps! Wish me luck...and some have already broke so I may need a link on getting started with mosaics! Cheers and thanks!

Get a rock tumbler and and smooth the edges out. Sell on eBay as sea glass!

I saw broken shards of glass used in plant beds to keep people and pets out of them. The pieces of broken glass were pointed upward to discourage anyone/anything from walking through the garden.

  That's a great idea mike! My dad actually "grows" glass in his gravel driveway. It gets tumbled naturally and the colors are so pretty in what is a normally dull color...thanks!

I'd put in a heavy bag, crush it a bit more.. Use for mosaics inside and out. gazing globes, bird baths, stepping stones... the colors are beautiful.. you could also drill holes in some and use along with brass tubing for wind chimes....Sun catchers .. One last idea... votive type patio candles on timers for evening glow..

What a waste, I hope you got your money back for them. Wonder if you could grind some of the glass into prisms. They would be a very pretty color.

  Oh Edith...I was sick! I did get my money back and I tumbled a lot of the pieces that now look like beach glass. I used the other pieces in my succulent planters too!
