Gmize on Oct 07, 2016How about a dressing area? You could hang full length mirrors on both walls. Would be great to check front and back of an outfit. The mirrors will help reflect natural light throughout the room.Helpful Reply

Pam Mariner Good on Oct 07, 2016Do you like to read? I think the reading nook would be a great idea. My first thought would be to make a cushioned window seat with pillows along the sides and back and use the space below the seat as a bookshelf.Helpful Reply

MK McDonald on Oct 08, 2016I've seen large bedrooms that include a coffee/tea station for those days you don't want to go all the way downstairs in the morning , but just snuggle in bed with a drink. They have little built in fridges and some have a small sink.Helpful Reply

Ann|The Apple Street Cottage on Oct 08, 2016I think the window seat is a great idea for the second one, but for the "weird corner" I'd put a small writing desk under the window with a nice chair. Add a pretty lamp and plant - what a beautiful view! You could also place a collection of small mirrors on the one wall to reflect the light.Helpful Reply

Wyldecent on Oct 08, 2016If your planning on using this as office space, long shelves for book, etc would look nice and add function. A row of file cabinets would work too. If you like plants you could make a mini-solarium in there.Helpful Reply

Larkatchi on Oct 08, 2016I had the same thing. I had a cabinet man to make window boxes with drawers, mine had three drawers. I added a lamp and a couple of cushions propped on the other side. I was pleased with the results. It gave me storage and added design to the room. My woodwork was white, so I made them white also.Helpful Reply

Beverly Johnson on Oct 08, 2016I would love this project! I would paint those 3 walls an eye popping color, (orange is my favorite!) build/buy a narrow bench( from pallets), make/buy a coordinating covered cushion with matching curtain. I would get a small table just big enough to hold a small lamp.(you could stack 2 wooden crates, painted or not) I would use this area as a reading nook.Helpful Reply

Marilyn Zaruba on Oct 08, 2016I'm a book freak and would add shelving on two or three sides, depending on how big the area actually is, and put in a small library with pictures above. I think you are very fortunate to have these little bonuses...gives the house character.Helpful Reply

Catherine Bridges on Oct 08, 2016If you have a hobby I would make a small hobby/ craft nook. Example: if sewing in you thing then a wooden shelf held up by brackets for seeing machine. Use a piece of plywood with diagonal doll rods about an 1 1/2" long spaced evenly thru top half with a couple curtain rods at the bottom for fabric.. You would still have space for other notions on the board by apply hooks or some type of storage attached to the underside of the shelf-Goid much-Get creativeHelpful Reply

Gayle on Oct 09, 2016We have a deep dormer just like this. I'm making this room into my projects room, so I needed some shelving. I had a carpenter cut into the studs and insert 3 feet wide matching shelving flush with the wall. They're holding junk right now, but will come in very handy when the room is finished. I also had him put in a window seat which will have a cushion on it---plan to put utility boxes holding project materials under it. Here's a pic---not beautiful yet, but I think you can get the idea. I couldn't stand the idea of having wasted space.Helpful Reply

Jayme Love on Oct 11, 2016In the "weird corner" you could always hang something for storage. Like a shoe rack (that has the pockets instead of the rods) for you office or crafting supplies.Helpful Reply
