Bold With Gold Dresser Makeover

This was the piece that told me : " No more Train Wrecks!" She had missing chunks of veneer, damaged details, unsuccessful drawers.. name it and it was wrong. But my love for old furniture told me to go ahead and purchase. I'm more of a Vanity Makeover Gal, but I stepped out of my zone and went for a Dresser.
So much more of a mess than she looks here.
Here's where I almost "checked out" and turned her into Firweood. A few good friends talked me out of it.
Dirty and ready to toss it.
Here are some of the detailing. I aged around the gold very slightly by wiping away an antiquing glaze only in the cracks and crevices.
Drove myself nuts with the detailing. But it sure is Bold With Gold!
Just when I thought I was done, I remembered she had a mirror. Lol.
Now I know my taste is not for everyone, but I'm not a white and distressed kind of gal. It's color all the way for me. You mention "chunks of missing veneer". I do not see that in the photo so how did you "fix" that? I have a similar piece with missing veneer-not sure where to go from here. Thank you.
