Elaine Simmons on Sep 27, 2013If you want to use it on furniture, be aware that oil based poly will yellow where water based won't. I found that out the hard way.Helpful Reply

Elaine Simmons on Sep 28, 2013I agree that wiping poly is easier to apply, but the fact remains, it DOES yellow! I know because I used the water based on a vanity that I had made from a dresser. It was on about a year and I thought maybe I should put another coat on since it got so much water on it. I grabbed the can of oil base and applied it just to the top of the vanity and walked away for about an hour.........when I came back, it was already yellow..........had to scrape it off because it looked really bad and did not match the rest of the vanityHelpful Reply

Elaine Simmons on Sep 28, 2013Well it did it for me......I wish I had pictures.......it didn't just give a hint of amber but was VERY yellow. Anything I have ever read online and the paint stores that I have worked in will tell you the same thing........oil based yellows!Helpful Reply
