Bathroom in basement

Mark Miller on Sep 25, 2013They make toilets that sit on a tank that contains a pump that grinds and pumps the waste up and to a waste pipe connection. The sink, bath and or shower connects to the tank to make use of the pump.Helpful Reply

LandlightS on Sep 25, 2013look into adding a sewage ejection pump.....it can handle all your plumbing need in a basement. You must place the basin(usually 30 gallons in size) into the ground, breaking the concrete to dig the hole. It connects to the sewage lines with pvc pipe with a check valve to prevent back-flow. Up-flush toilets are OK, but cannot match the efficiency of a sewage pump.Helpful Reply

Devon Cretella on Sep 27, 2013We tried it a few years ago. I STRONGLY recommend NOT doing this! Ended up taking it out about a year after it was installed. After a very gross clean up job, that is.Helpful Reply

Tegma on Sep 27, 2013Check out the "Bathroom Anywhere"..... I'm going to install this in my basement. I've read good reports about it, and in addition to the toilet, you can hook up a shower and sink easily, too. It's about $900 for the complete toilet and macerator. However, the shower and vanity will be in addition to that. It's still very reasonable, tho'.... and easy to do. There are video's showing how easy it is, on Youtube.comHelpful Reply

Tegma on Sep 28, 2013Have a question about the sewage pump mentioned..... When you say it has to go into the concrete, how does that save from just going into the concrete and hooking into the present sewage line? What makes it better? Also, what is the cost?Helpful Reply
