The entry to my basement is a brick surround with brick stairs, it floods quite badly.

James A on Apr 01, 2011I don't think any pump can move that much water. Drainage around your house must be bad. Grade away from the house, install gutter downspout extensions and french drains. This might be a problem for a professional.Helpful Reply

Richard Beyer on Jun 21, 2014Definitely not a DIY project! There are many companies which specialize in this work. Try a web search for basement systems, wet basements, etc. in your area. It's not as expensive as people think, especially in comparison to what water damage can cost you if ignored for years.Helpful Reply

Jennifer @ Decorated Chaos on Jun 23, 2014I agree with Richard. Hire a professional who can help you make quality decisions about your water drainage. If done right, they could possibly reroute where the water exists your house which in turn will prevent you the hassle of the flooding and save you money in costly repairs down the road that the water would cause.Helpful Reply
