Ring around the Tub.

Does any one have a way to clean built up stains (RED) from minerals coming from ground water? I'm find it impossible to remove. Thanks!

Have you tried the Mr. Clean Magic Sponges (or I find the Walmart brand works just as well)? We live in the country and get our water from a well. Before we got a filtration/chlorination system, we had a very high iron content which left stains and the magic sponges worked for me. In fact, I have found those sponges magically remove tough stains from just about anything and everything! I was even able to remove black Sharpie marker from something with one.

I have used "Barkeepers Friend" scouring powder..it works well on inorganic stains such as rust and other mineral-based stains..

Try a Pumis stone. I got mine at the local hardware store I think I have seen them at Wal Mart. These are great. We bought an antique tub and it got almost all of the rust and discolorization out. It is also great for rust in the toilet bowl.
