NEVER BEEN A LEG PERSON....
Help, I am fixing up this old table for a friend's daughter's first apartment. Giving her the table, paying for the products to fix and doing the work...so do not want to put too much more money, time or lots of effort to fix it. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER???? Am thinking about just painting it and so be it!

Z on Sep 26, 2013If, as it appears, the leg is still strong enough to hold the weight of the table and anything one might put on it, then all you need is some good wood filler. I used Elmer's wood filler to repair chewed corners on dresser drawers with excellent results. It's stainable and paintable. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Elmer-s-Wood-Filler-Max-Stainable-2-oz-E9017/203215979#.UkRWED9nHPU Love the table!Helpful Reply

Jenny Buis on Sep 28, 2013Hi Becky, What about getting 4 decorative legs and putting them over the mended leg? You can get different ones at the `hardware stores, or maybe at a reuse, recycle shop or Goodwill ?Helpful Reply

Lesa on Sep 28, 2013slightly edgy look to an old piece, wrap the legs in flashing. Just go the lower damaged portion, about eight or ten inches up then fasten with screws that are short but have a big head. I had a bench that had a chewed leg that I did this with and then milk painted and distressed. Daughter borrowed it for her apt.....four years ago.Helpful Reply
