Leaky toilet

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Sep 27, 2013Did you put in the wax ring with the plastic middle so the wax ring does not slide? This is a common problem when replacing a wax ring. The wax slides and the toilet leaks. they are $5-$6 at any store for the wax ring with the plastic donut that holds the ring in place while you put the toilet back on. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Mary Insana on Sep 27, 2013A plumber once told me he always uses 2 wax seals when installing toilets. I've replaced 2 toilets in my house and used 2 wax seals, one on tope of the other, and then set the toilet in place then I sat down to really squish it in place. Haven't had a leak and its been about 6 years.Helpful Reply
